Toronto or Tor'ono?

Either one, I think I like it. There's this cute little airport that can't take much above a Dash 8, the CN tower to look at the airport from (why else would you go up there?). Toronto also owns the world's shortest ferry ride (something that the local guides are vehemently proud of, lasting 45 seconds. A haunted lighthouse lurks behind a bank of trees seen from a ferry ride in the harbour: supposedly the master of the house was into bootlegging, and one night some soldiers came for a drink. After a while he decided they'd had enough, and they disagreed. So, logically they threw his body from the top of the house, and from there it was never seen, until one day three separate stashes of bones were unearthed. Spots of blood on the thirteenth step of the house (where else?) have also been sigted, and reports of the light flashing (even though the electricity has long since been disconnected) abound.

This horror sits serenely near the Royal Yacht Club, on the stretch of water intended for Olympic rowing. Moving away from the haunted waters, the sky scrapers towering above the wide avenue streets, the most remarkable being lined with gold, supposedly for climate control; although it has been suggested that, since the building is owned by the richest bank in Canada, they are merely boasting.

The Eaton centre in Toronto is massive, spanning several floors and featuring a bizarre display of carved seagulls and a pantheon of shops, ranging from a large department store to small boutiques (I got my iPod an iSkin in one) and the obligatory food courts.

Over on University Road the Canadian Air Force Monument (built by Oscar Nemon) dominates the traffic, mostly ignored by the night passing traffic due to the poor lighting it suffers. Towering above that, sky scrapers in their mirrored brilliance reflect each other in the evening light, standing blackly against the sky.

Would I go back to Toronto? Sure.
